Indonesia to Host ASEAN Football Championship

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has appointed a new head coach for the national team, marking a new chapter in Indonesian football.
In a press conference held yesterday, PSSI Chairman announced that the federation has reached an agreement with an experienced international coach who has previously led several national teams to success in international competitions.
"We are delighted to welcome our new head coach to the Indonesian national team. His experience and tactical knowledge will be invaluable as we prepare for upcoming tournaments and aim to elevate Indonesian football on the international stage," said the PSSI Chairman.
The new coach, who will be officially introduced next week, brings over 20 years of coaching experience at both club and international levels. His appointment comes after an extensive search and evaluation process by the PSSI technical committee.
The immediate focus for the new coach will be preparing the team for the upcoming ASEAN Championship and the 2026 World Cup qualification matches. He is expected to work closely with local clubs to identify and develop talent for the national team.
Football analysts have responded positively to the appointment, noting that the coach's experience with developing young players could be particularly beneficial for Indonesia's emerging talents.
The national team is scheduled to begin training under the new coach next month, with friendly matches planned against regional opponents to prepare for competitive fixtures later in the year.
